John O’Brien, PMHNP

John O’Brien is a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner who works as a psychiatric nurse practitioner. He treats patients at our Crown Heights, Williamsburg, and Lower East Side locations. John completed his undergraduate degree in nursing at the University of Delaware in 2020 and completed his Master of Science in Nursing in psychiatry at the University of Pennsylvania in 2023. He completed a nursing fellowship at CHN in 2025. During the fellowship he helped implement a quality improvement project that educated staff on suicidality and improved assessment and documentation for CHN patient’s in crisis. John’s specific interests include substance use disorders and suicide prevention.

John O’Brien, PMHNP can help you with:

Updates

Effective Monday, March 2nd, 2026, CHN’s late policy will now be:

  • 10 minutes for telehealth visits
  • 15 minutes for in‑person visits
