Our Mental Health and Support Group Services

Individual Sessions

All of our health centers have trained social workers on the clinical team who provide comprehensive psychosocial services to identify and address a client’s needs.

Our therapists speak several languages, including English, Spanish, French, and Haitian Creole. Daytime and evening sessions are available for our clients. We specialize in providing therapy around issues such as HIV/AIDS, depression, sexual abuse, domestic violence and substance abuse.

Community Healthcare Network is licensed by the New York State Department of Mental Health to provide outpatient mental health treatment services at our health centers in Brooklyn (CABS Health Center, Dr. Betty Shabazz Health Center, Caribbean House Health Center). For these health centers, mental health therapists are regularly scheduled to provide individual, family and group services. In addition, psychiatrists provide evaluation and assessment, medication treatment and management, and consultation.

Group Sessions

Ask your local center about the support groups currently available. Groups currently offered include:

• Counseling services for clients in CHN’s Transgender Program (Bronx Health Center)
• Women’s Supportive Services offers support groups for HIV-positive women and their families (Queens Health Center)

For our three centers in Brooklyn, our mental health therapists are regularly scheduled to provide group treatment services.
