Sexting and Trust

Sending sexy messages or photos through social media is popular. And why not?* It can be a fun and sexy way of communication between two consenting partners. Some teens say that sexting is a symbol of commitment and trust. But 17% of off people who get a sext share it with others without the permission of the person who sent it. 55% of those that share sexts share them with more than one person.

We should be able to trust and be trusted by our partners. Keep sexting fun and healthy. Be a trustable partner – if both partners consent, assume that the message is intended to be private and keep it that way.

*In some states, if you are under the age of 18 and send or receive a sexual image, it can be considered child pornography and can result in criminal charges.
