Job Opening: Mental Health Therapist (CABS)

The Mental Health Therapist works as an integral part of the Mental Health treatment team providing clinical treatment services under the direction of the Mental Health Director and treating Psychiatrist.  These services include comprehensive assessments, diagnosis, preparation and implementation of the treatment plan.

Essential Functions:

• Provides assessment and screening services to individuals interested in becoming participants in the mental health program.
• Conducts intake and psycho-social assessments.
• Provides treatment services to a caseload of 30-50 including clients, individuals, groups and families. Maintaining weekly utilization/billing targets, up to 50 for 2 groups, 40 for up to 1 group, and 30 for individual.
• Facilitates related services for health center patients as appropriate with respect to their confidentiality and privacy.
• Evaluates assessments and makes diagnoses.
• Develops and implements treatment plans according to OMH standards.
• Provides psychotherapy and psycho-education to a variety of clients, utilizing individual, family and group models.
• Participates in weekly clinical supervision to discuss cases.

Qualifications: • Must have MSW Degree • One to three years experience as a Clinical Social Worker • Specialized education and training in mental health • Demonstrated ability to organize and document information in accordance with OMH standards. • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Strong interpersonal skills • Interest in and conviction of purpose and aims for all programs in the Agency. • Respect for the rights of individuals to make their own decisions about their medical care. • Ability to communicate easily and display a cordial manner owards individuals from a variety of socio-economic, cultural and religious background.
